Vice President Kamala Harris plans to head to reliably Republican Texas just 10 days before Election Day to try to refocus her campaign against former President Donald Trump on reproductive care.

Visiting a politically unfriendly state can be a way to make a splash and send a message about taking on a fight.

Vice President Harris is leaning into abortion rights as a closing argument in the final days before the election, and will head to Texas this week to highlight the state as “ground zero of the nation’s extreme abortion bans.
