NEW YORK – Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards has been fined $50,000 for making obscene gestures toward a game official, it was announced today by Joe Dumars, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations.

The Wolves guard took it upon himself to change the team’s last-second inbounds play, then missed a 3-pointer to seal a loss in Memphis.

The fine is the largest yet for Edwards, whose tally for the season now stands at $235,000. And the NBA made clear on Sunday that fines will escalate for Edwards as a repeat offender. Edwards has been fined three times in the past five weeks, totaling $135,000.
