This post contains spoilers from "Code Blues," the Season 1 finale of "Dexter: Original Sin," now streaming on Paramount+ With Showtime. Over the course of just a few weeks in 1991, Dexter Morgan came into his own as a serial killer.

After letting the police captain escape in Episode 9, we see Dexter (Patrick Gibson) follow Spencer to a massive ship, where he’s holding his son. Realizing that Dexter has caught up with him, Spencer floods the chamber where Nicky is chained, forcing the serial killer into a choice — save a child or let his urge to kill take priority.

Showrunner Clyde Phillips, who is currently working on 'Dexter: Resurrection,' just set up another season of the prequel series with that ending: "We didn't know everything going in, and still don't."
