A man was detained Monday in Granite Bay after deputies began investigating “suspicious circumstances” that prompted area residents to shelter-in-place, according to a Placer County Sheriff’s Office news release.

A section of Oak Leaf Way was closed as of 10:44 a.m. between Lou Place and Macduff Drive, the Placer County Sheriff's Office said.

Law enforcement’s sole suspect surrendered after deputies responded to a home on Oak Leaf Way. Upon entering, authorities found two dead bodies: a man and woman.
