Avelo Airlines is suspending some flights out of Bradley International Airport after adding new routes just last month. A spokesperson for the airline said they’re suspending a third route after announcing two other flight suspensions earlier this month.

WINDSOR, Conn. (WFSB) - Avelo airlines is planning to suspend several flights from Bradley International Airport. By the end of March you won’t be able to fly between Hartford and Charlotte. According to the airline, it also suspended flights between Bradley and Lakeland, Florida, as well as Houston, Texas.

Starting this spring, a daily JetBlue flight out of Bradley International Airport will connect the Hartford area to John F. Kennedy in New York City.

The Connecticut Airport Authority and JetBlue made a major announcement on Wednesday – the airline will soon launch nonstop service between Bradley International Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

“We will be suspending our route between Hartford and Charlotte (North Carolina) at the end of March,” said Courtney Goff, spokesperson for Avelo Airlines. “Earlier this month we suspended service between Hartford and Lakeland, Florida, and Houston, Texas. Unfortunately, these routes did not meet our expectations.”

The Connecticut Airport Authority has announced on Wednesday that JetBlue will launch nonstop flights between Bradley International Airport (BDL) and John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

Avelo launched its Hartford to Charlotte, N.C. route in November but will suspend the route at the end of March, Avelo confirmed to FOX61 by email Wednesday morning. Avelo said it suspended Hartford service between Lakeland, Fla., as well as Houston, Texas, earlier this month, both of which also launched in November.
