Khar Gymkhana president, Vivek Devnani, hinted that the allegations could be politically motivated, given the timing of the club’s upcoming managing committee and trustee elections.

Jemimah Rodrigues’ membership at Khar Gymkhana, one of Mumbai’s oldest clubs, was revoked recently after her father Ivan was accused of booking the club’s banquet hall for religious conversion, according to reports.

According to Khar Gymkhana officials, the action was taken after some members objected to Jemimah Rodrigues' father Ivan using club premises for “religious activities” and alleged that events were organised to “convert the vulnerable”.

Khar Gymkhana in Mumbai has revoked Jemimah Rodrigues' membership after her father used the club for religious activities. The decision followed concerns over breach of club rules.

Mumbai: Khar Gymkhana, one of Mumbai's historic clubs, revoked the membership of Indian cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues following complaints regarding her father, Ivan Rodrigues, allegedly using the club for unauthorised religious activities. The decision was reportedly made during the club's annual general body meeting on October 20, 2024.

The decision to revoke Indian ace cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues' 3-year membership was taken unanimously at Sunday’s annual general body meeting. Jemimah or her family have not responded to the reports as yet.

The Gymkhana officials were compelled to take action against Jemimah Rodrigues after members raised an objection over her father's religious activities.

Jemimah Rodrigues's name has been doing the rounds on social media after reports emerged that her father, Ivan Rodrigues, allegedly used Khar Gymkhana for unauthorised religious activities under the banner of Brother Manuel Ministries.

The controversy escalated when it was revealed that Bro Manuel Ministries, the evangelical group allegedly involved in these gatherings, had hosted several Christian conversion meetings at Khar Gymkhana’s premises.
