The Miami Hurricanes once again won a tightly contested conference game, this time a 52-45 road win over the Louisville Cardinals, to remain undefeated. And it played a part in Miami staying put in the AP top-25 poll for a third consecutive week. The Hurricanes once again checked in at No. 6 in the latest edition of the AP poll, released on Sunday.

Miami has a claim to be the nation’s best offense. The unit put up 45 points in the victory (with seven points coming on a defensive touchdown). That performance actually brought UM’s scoring average down to 48.3 points per game — slightly behind No. 1 Indiana, which is averaging 48.7.

Instead of being tied at 45 following Louisville’s fumble return, Miami’s drive continued and two plays later Damien Martinez sealed the victory with a 30-yard touchdown run. The Hurricanes, who entered the week leading all FBS schools in scoring and yards per play, rolled up 541 yards of total offense, including 222 rushing yards.
