OKLAHOMA CITY — State Superintendent Ryan Walters has sued three federal agencies responsible for immigration enforcement, accusing President Joe Biden’s administration of imposing a financial burden on Oklahoma schools through a “repeated failure” to secure the nation’s southern border.

Walters claims that Oklahoma is owed approximately $474 million. He says it's time to hold the Biden-Harris administration accountable. "What we've seen are Kamala Harris and Joe Biden allow this border to be overrun, allow illegal immigrants into the state of Oklahoma and into our schools," Walters said.

Oklahoma state schools Superintendent Ryan Walters is suing the secretary of Homeland Security and the U.S. Immigration Customs Enforcement deputy director for $474 million in an attempt to "recoup illegal immigration impacts on Oklahoma schools.

According to a release from the Oklahoma State Department of Education, the lawsuit seeks compensation for the “severe financial and operational strain that their failed border policies have placed on Oklahoma’s public schools.
