An actress who appeared in Netflix documentary Sweet Bobby has revealed there were concerns for her welfare after viewers confused her for the real catfish. Bhamini Joseph, who goes by the name of Bambi, played scammer Simran Bhogal in the documentary, which tells the horrific story of how Kirat Assi was catfished for nearly a decade.

The documentary “Sweet Bobby,” which came out three years after an investigative podcast of the same name, looks into what happened between the cousins. The real Bobby Jandu, along with Assi, are interviewed in the podcast and documentary. Bhogal is represented by an actor in the documentary.

While her name has been brought into the public eye, not much else is known about Simran Bhogal and her privacy has been upheld. In the Netflix documentary, she is portrayed by an actress, and when offered the opportunity to be interviewed, she declined.

Alexi Mostrous, who narrated the Sweet Bobby podcast, shared with listeners that Bhogal "no longer works in her high-powered job" in the final episode. However, Mostrous revealed that "she left" her job, leading people to believe that she resigned of her own accord, rather than being fired.
