The good news for Mikaela Shiffrin is that she no longer feels pain in her abdomen 2½ months after a deep puncture wound nearly pierced her colon. The challenge now is getting back to top form as the American chases a record-breaking 16th medal at the world championships in the slalom on Saturday.

The legendary American says she's suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a fall in a giant slalom race on Nov. 30. In the race, Italian Federica Brignone won gold, while USA's Paula Moltzan took bronze for her first individual world championship medal.

Mikaela Shiffrin said she will still race the slalom and team combined at worlds but said she's "not there yet" with giant slalom.
