The Penguin cast a different actor in the role of mob boss Carmine Falcone, and now we know why. John Turturro originally played one of Gotham’s biggest antagonists in 2022’s The Batman, but he was replaced in HBO spinoff series The Penguin by Mark Strong.

But one actor from the movie directed by Matt Reeves didn't reprise his role in the HBO television series. John Turturro played Carmine Falcone, one of the biggest criminals in Gotham City. But the performer didn't step back into the role for the spin-off.
