West Springs Hospital will close permanently in less than a month, ending the 20-year career of the only psychiatric hospital between Salt Lake City and Denver.

West Springs Hospital announced on Monday it’s closing its doors on March 10, 2025 after years of financial trouble. The closure also cut ties between Mind Springs and Larkin Health, which has been managing the nonprofit since November.

The hospital had struggled financially, and would have faced additional challenges from possible state and federal cuts to Medicaid, the statement said.
