A Taunton man was arrested outside the U.S. Capitol Monday after admitting to an officer that he drove there with intent to kill Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, according to authorities.

A Massachusetts man has been arrested on weapons charges after authorities say he visited the U.S. Capitol and told police that he came there to kill billionaire investor Scott Bessent on the day the Senate confirmed him as President Donald Trump’s treasury secretary.

Ryan English from Massachusetts, armed with a folding knife and two Molotov cocktails, surrended and told a US Capitol police officer that he had been there to 'kill Scott Bessent,' who was just confirmed as Trump's treasury secretary.
