The air quality of Delhi further worsened on Wednesday as a thick layer of smog enveloped the national capital in the morning amid rising pollution levels. The air quality of Delhi remained in the ‘very poor’ category with an overall AQI recorded at 363 in the morning.

In some areas of the national capital, the air quality dropped to the severe category, with an AQI in the range of 400.

On Wednesday 8 am, Delhi’s air quality had dipped to 354, which is in the ‘very poor’ category. Some of the measuring stations recorded AQI over 400, which is in the ‘severe’ category.

Delhi AQI stood at 354 at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the real-time data provided by the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research.

Delhi's air quality recorded an AQI of 349, remaining in the 'very poor' category. The Commission for Air Quality Management enacted Stage II of the Graded Response Action Plan due to this. An 11-point action plan is in place to improve air quality.

A thick layer of fog was seen in Anand Vihar, Kalkaji, Nehru Place, and Akshardham Temple localities among other places in the national capital, as the city's air quality dropped to 385 at 8 am today.
