The AFCA proposes transfer portal reforms to balance player freedom with program stability, addressing chaos in modern college football’s landscape

Despite numerous transfer portal entries since the semifinal loss to Ohio State, Sarkisian and Co. are welcoming the No. 1 high school class of 2025 with 19 blue-chip prospects committed to the program, per 247Sports .

College football has a calendar problem. The sport’s postseason, draft, and biggest free agency window now all occur at the same time. That means program’s must build for the future and still work with the current team at the same.

Student-athletes can enter their names into the transfer portal during two different periods for the 2024-25 academic year. The first took place in early December and the second in late April.
