Updating maps of Southern California show where wildfires, including the Palisades, Eaton and Hughes fires, are burning across Los Angeles.

Some residents evacuated in the Palisades fire also were allowed to return home on Thursday afternoon. Their homes are in an area near the Encino Reservoir, bordered on the east by the 405 Freeway and Westridge Canyonback Wilderness and north of West Sunset Boulevard.

Firefighters continued their efforts on the Palisades and Eaton fires on Saturday, hoping to make as much progress as possible before another round of fire weather is expected to return next week.
