New York City will close a massive Brooklyn migrant shelter as the population of new arrivals in the city’s care continues to drop, City Hall announced on Friday. The 3,500-bed Hall Street shelter in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood,

The city anticipates partnering with local nonprofits that provide services to migrants in an effort to help them take the next steps.

The controversial shelter at 47 Hall St. in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill neighborhood, which housed roughly 3,350 single male migrants at the peak of the crisis, is among the handful of taxpayer-funded sites expected to close in June, according to city officials.

The move comes as the city seeks to scale back its contracts with hotels acting as migrant shelters, saying most new arrivals have moved on.

It’s one of 46 migrant shelters slated to close by June, as fewer asylum-seekers arrive and seek shelter in New York City.

The controversial Floyd Bennett Field migrant shelter in Brooklyn closed Saturday, just four months into a new year-long lease.

The new closures include Hall Street in Brooklyn, one of the city's largest facilities which houses 3,500 migrants.
