February’s Supplemental Security Income payment, worth up to $943, will go out to millions of beneficiaries in 18 days. The next SSI payments are scheduled to be distributed on Jan. 31. SSI payments are given to people living with debilitating disabilities that affect their income, according to the Social Security Administration.

Almost all Social Security beneficiaries are familiar with the most popular and publicized change: the increase in monthly benefit checks for 2025 due to the automated cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA. As you already know, that increase will be 2.5%.

Because of the calendar, Social Security recipients who get Supplemental Security Income benefits get their first 2025 check on Dec. 31, 2024.

In three days, millions of Social Security recipients will receive their first monthly retirement checks of 2025. Social Security beneficiaries who were born from the 11th through the 20th of their respective birth months will receive a regular monthly check for January from the Social Security Administration on Jan.

Those who receive Social Security payments will see a bit of a change to their regularly scheduled payments for the first couple months of 2025. In particular, those receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive their first payment of 2025 this Tuesday, the final day of 2024.

We're nearly half way into January and another set of Social Security checks will soon be headed out to beneficiaries. The 2025 COLA increase is officially in place and recipients should see a 2.5% increase to their monthly payments.
