As the Florida Gators prepare for a highly anticipated 2025 season, head coach Billy Napier has reportedly hired the son of a UF legend with a wealth of college football coaching experience. The Gators had an opening following the departure of Dan Enos, who served as a special assistant to the head coach, to coach quarterbacks at Wake Forest.
Frost’s comments essentially echoed the sentiment of Gators counterpart Billy Napier. On the NCAA’s late signing day (Feb. 5), Napier reiterated that he’ll keep calling plays in Gainesville, where Florida has ranked ninth in passing offense each of the past three seasons and never has ranked higher than seventh in total offense during that span.
Lagway finished the 2024 season with 1,915, 12 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The Willis, Texas native also ran for 101 yards. Even though the Florida quarterback could still improve heading into 2025, especially in the passing game, he showed he could lead the team in big games late in the season.
“He’s one of my favorites of all time,” Florida head coach Billy Napier told Swamp247 back in November. “He’s the best punter in the country, and he’ll be a top draft pick and a great pro.
