The Rockwall County Republican Party announced on Wednesday that Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick will be the keynote speaker for the annual Lincoln-Reagan Day on March 1 at Boyd Farm

Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, who has previously expressed concerns about the expansion of AI on the power grid, says there is "no daylight" between him and President Trump.

“I think it’s clear, but I’m also open to the idea that some doctors don’t see it that way, some hospitals don’t think that way,” said Patrick, a Republican who presides over the Texas Senate. “We don’t want to stand in the way of that, but we’re not going to open it up so that abortion is prevalent again in the state.”

Patrick is the first major Republican official in Texas to say he supports clarifying the state's near-total abortion ban this legislative session.

As President of the Texas Senate, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick (R) on Friday announced his committee appointments for the 89th Legislature.

State lawmakers are preparing to debate legislation that could shut down the sale of all forms of THC in Texas.

The state budget, school vouchers and a THC ban topped Patrick’s list. His other top goals include raising the property tax exemption for homeowners, improving electric and water infrastructure, and aiding the federal government with the deportation of people who are in the U.

He reminds everyone that the idea of 40-minute games was only a hypothetical discussion, not a serious proposal.

A fiscal note for SB 2 from the Texas Senate said the legislation would allow about 35,000 students to attend private school in 2027.

Outside of school choice, other priorities for Patrick include several rightwing culture war goals like “placing the ten commandments in school” and “stopping drag time story hour.”
