Texans running back Joe Mixon is dealing with an ankle injury entering the AFC Divisional Round matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. Here are the latest updates.
In last week’s wild-card round win over the Los Angeles Chargers, Mixon became the first running back since Arian Foster in 2012 to rush for 100 yards in a playoff game. He finished with 106 yards and scored a 17-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to ice the game.
The Houston Texans may have had their season end last weekend, but the future is very bright. While there is a lot of work to be done to win a Super Bowl, a lot of the major building blocks are already in place.
The do-it-all running back for Houston was a late addition to the injury report this week, clouding his status for the weekend matchup in Kansas City. The Texans already have dealt with plenty of issues at the receiver spot this season, only adding more to Mixon's plate.
Injuries hit the Texans hard, especially at wide receiver. Stefon Diggs, who was a major offseason addition, tore his ACL back on Oct. 27 during a win over the Indianapolis Colts. Now, he’s heading into free agency, and his future with the team is unclear.
