Ongoing Updates: Arrest Made in Southern University Student Caleb Wilson’s Death Amid Hazing Investigation
Police say one arrest has been made and at least two more are expected in connection with the death of Caleb Wilson.
Hundreds of people gathered at Tuba Fats Square on Thursday (March 6) for a second line honoring Caleb Wilson, the 20-year-old Kenner native and Southern University’s Human Jukebox member who died during a fraternity hazing ritual at Southern University last Thursday.
Caleb McCray, 23, faces manslaughter and criminal hazing charges for allegedly repeatedly punching Wilson in the chest with boxing gloves during the Feb. 21 ritual, causing a fatal seizure, Baton Rouge Police said at a Friday press conference.
McCray is now believed to have delivered the final blow before Wilson died, during a pledging ritual for Omega Psi Phi.
