The Pittsburgh Penguins this week headed out for the West Coast portion of their season-long road trip with, at least at first, mixed results. A win that could serve as a template for how to play. Then a loss that left the Penguins perhaps wanting to throw away the game tape.
It was a tough night for the Penguins on Thursday in Anaheim. Not only were they unable to carry over the momentum from Monday’s win over Los Angeles – they lost winger Bryan Rust late in the second period.
A source close to the Penguins has informed @TheRGMedia that Kyle Dubas is looking for a fire sale. Big name veterans, not simply just pending free agents, are up on the trade block and the Penguins are also willing to retain to move out Erik Karlsson. More on this below: https://t.co/uxHpnheLs5
Nedeljkovic scored into an empty net at 17:18 of the third period after the Sabres pulled their goalie for an extra skater.
Pittsburgh Penguins goalie Alex Nedeljkovic made history by becoming the first netminder to record a goal and an assist in an NHL game.

Three losses in a row entering tonight helps bring a couple of changes for the Penguins: Ryan Shea is bounced to healthy scratch territory, P.O. Joseph is back in the game Jesse Puljujarvi returns from AHL banishment for his first NHL game since January 12th,
Earlier on Monday, the Penguins placed second-line center Evgeni Malkin on injured reserve with a lower-body injury, and he will be out week-to-week. The team will look to get back on track against the San Jose Sharks, who own the league's lowest point total at 34.

Evgeni Malkin injured early, Pens lose defensive composure late. It adds up to what wasn’t a fun Saturday in Seattle!
Something to, perhaps, keep an eye on if Imama - an enforcer - is in the lineup is if the Penguins seek a bit of retribution on Seattle defenseman Adam Larsson, who took a liberty on Penguins captain Sidney Crosby away from the puck with a heavy cross-check in their last tilt.
