Grimace and Uncle O’Grimacey are welcoming the Shamrock Shake back to restaurants nationwide on Monday, Feb. 10

Well, not literally, but the arrival of spring signals the return of this iconic St. Patrick's Day treat. If you're feeling lucky that this treat is returning to popular chain restaurant near you, did you know that you can make this frozen favorite at home -- any time of year for a fraction of the cost?

Despite his hiatus, the green, furry icon was never forgotten. Uncle O’Grimacey earned his own merch line, called the Uncle O'Grimacey collection, which includes Shamrock Season pins, a crewneck and, even, a plain white tee that says “Who’s your uncle?” alongside an image of the uncle himself.

The beloved Shamrock Shake is coming back to McDonald's, along with a McDonald's character no one's seen since the 1980's: Uncle O'Grimacey.

Who needs Groundhog Day—the Shamrock Shake’s return means spring has begun. Starting February 10 and running through March, the famously green vanilla-based mint milkshake topped with whipped cream will be available for purchase,

The seasonal Shamrock Shake is back at McDonald’s nationwide, including locations in Connecticut. Even better, for each shake bought at a participating restaurant, $0.25 will be donated to the Donald McDonald House Charities.
