It's that time of the year when the national capital typically struggles against an alarming air quality. In view of the rising Air Quality Index (AQI), authorities have raised the car parking charges to discourage the use of vehicles on the city's roads.

On Wednesday 8 am, Delhi’s air quality had dipped to 354, which is in the ‘very poor’ category. Some of the measuring stations recorded AQI over 400, which is in the ‘severe’ category.

A thick layer of smog enveloped the national capital Wednesday morning as its air quality remained in the 'very poor' category with an overall AQI of 363, while more areas fell into the "severe" zone.
