(Reuters) -Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday at the BRICS summit in Russia, India's foreign secretary said, their first meeting since 2020 when ties nosedived after their forces clashed on their disputed frontier.

The Prime Minister also reflected on his two visits to Russia in the past three months, highlighting these trips as evidence of the close coordination and enduring friendship between the two nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (22 October) held a bilateral meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan on the sidelines of the 16th BRICS Summit. He highlighted the opening of India's new consulate and the strong bilateral ties between the two countries as this is Modi's second visit to Russia in the last three months reflect.
