Millwall goalkeeper Liam Roberts has been handed a six-game ban for his kick on Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta after an independent panel upheld the English Football Association's claim to lengthen the punishment.

Roberts, 30, was sent off in Millwall's FA Cup loss to Crystal Palace after an attempt at a clearance saw him kick Mateta's head.

The English FA has increased the ban of Millwall goalkeeper, Liam Roberts for his horror tackle on Crystal Palace striker, Jean-Philippe Mateta. Roberts was shown a straight red card during last weekend’s FA Cup clash between the south London rivals.
