Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi took holy dips in sacred river waters in the northern city of Prayagraj on Wednesday as he joined millions of people at the Maha Kumbh Mela, a week after dozens died in a stampede at the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Prayagraj for the Maha Kumbh Mela, taking a sacred dip at the Sangam and inaugurating infrastructure projects worth INR 5,500 crore. The event saw participation from international leaders and celebrities and had a massive turnout of over 12.

Modi took a ritual bath on a visit to the Maha Kumbh Mela, a week after a deadly crush at the world's largest gathering.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maha Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj on February 5, as per a release.At around 11 AM, the Prime Minister will take a holy dip at the Sangam and offer prayers to Maa Ganga.
