Parts of India's tech capital Bengaluru were flooded on Tuesday after heavy overnight rain, and a number of people were feared trapped after a building under construction collapsed due to the downpour.

Thirty teams of the Forest Department, one battalion of NDRF, three teams of SDRF, five teams of Fire and Emergency Services, and 30 teams from BBMP are pressed into the service as the heavy rains disrupted normal life.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning for continued heavy rain, prompting the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) to advise IT and private companies to allow employees to work from home on October 23.
