Officials in Sweden have vowed to determine why a man killed 10 people, and apparently himself, in an unprecedented attack that's shaken their "society to its core."

Syrian and Bosnian embassies confirmed Thursday that people from their countries were among the ten people killed in Sweden's Tuesday Risbergska School shooting.

Police in Sweden said Tuesday that "about 10 people" were killed in a shooting earlier in the day at a school for adults in the city of Orebro, west of Stockholm.

One day after the killings at an adult educational center, some gathered to lay flowers and come to grips with the violence.

Syrians and a Bosnian were among the 10 victims of a gunman who carried out the worst shooting in Swedish history, at a school in Orebro on Tuesday. It was the first information about those murdered in the attack, and it came from two embassies rather than police, who only said there were victims of a number of nationalities.

Police were alerted to a shooting at a school in Sweden just after noon local time on Tuesday, Feb. 4, according to multiple outlets. At least five people have been confirmed shot and the public has been warned to avoid the area,

Sweden on Wednesday mourned the victims of its worst mass killing as police indicated that the gunman likely shot himself after killing 10 people at an adult education centre. Candles were lit and flowers laid in front of the cordoned off Campus Risbergska school for young adults in Orebro as residents flocked to pay their respects.

In the low-level buildings of Campus Risbergska in Orebro, a 35-year-old man stalked the corridors looking for his targets.
