Assembly Bill 238 — could see the creation of a movie studio in Summerlin as a partnership between the Howard Hughes Corporation, Sony Pictures and Warner Brothers/Discovery.

California lawmakers unveiled legislation Wednesday to increase the state's incentive for film and TV production.

The bill will allow parents to apply for an annual, refundable tax credit of up to $5,000 for “qualified expenses” for grade school children and $7,500 for students with disabilities.
