Scott Turner was confirmed Wednesday as the housing secretary, a role central to President Donald Trump’s domestic agenda at a time when most Americans say the cost of living around necessities are a top concern.

While Turner called HUD a "failure," he failed to tell Senate the ways he plans to combat issues including lack of affordadble housing.

The Senate voted 55-44 to confirm North Texas native Scott Turner as leader of HUD, and he was sworn in by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas.
