the towers are defined by horizontal bands that divide each office level. Set off from this largely glass exterior, ornate screens typical of Islamic architecture surround the podium building.

The other tower and the podium would have heights of 123 feet and 77 feet, respectively. Redco Development has proposed a three-building development at 156 California Ave. with 382 residential units.

Architectural firm Foster + Partners, which designed the project, said the towers' exterior was inspired by cascading water. Renderings show pool terraces extending from the buildings' facades.
