State Superintendent Dr. Eric Mackey sent guidance to area schools to carry on with normal activities and follow standard enrollment and attendance policies. Dr. Mackey said a number of districts have reached out asking about how possible actions to locate and detain certain illegal immigrants could disrupt schools.

A “Know Your Rights” table was set up across from North Side High School by Congressman Marc Veasey to inform families about their legal options if detained by ICE.
