Pune: A man suspected to have contracted Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) has died in Maharashtra's Solapur district, while the number of cases of the immunological nerve disorder in Pune rose to 110, health officials said on Monday. This is possibly the first death in Maharashtra suspected to have been caused by GBS.

A 41-year-old chartered accountant from Pune has become the first confirmed casualty of the Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) outbreak in the city, with cases rising to 111 in just under three weeks.
