Dexter: Original Sin's creator has revealed why the new prequel show doesn't feature a critical character from the original series.

Patrick Gibson ( The OA) beautifully tackled the role of a younger Dexter as though he were born for it, while Hall returned to provide the murderer’s inner voice. According to Original Sin showrunner Clyde Phillips (he also oversaw the first four seasons of the OG series), that running monologue is what makes the franchise so enduring.
