Former Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll is clearly showing a desire to return to coaching. In late December it was announced Carroll was interested in the Bears’ top job, and he even recently completed an interview with Chicago. Now, there is another team inquiring about Carroll’s potential services.

The AFC West currently features three future Pro Football Hall of Fame head coaches. As for the Las Vegas Raiders, they’re looking to fill that position once again—could they be adding a fourth coach to that mix?

Las Vegas will interview Carroll next week for their head coach position, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Thursday night. The former Seahawks coach interviewed with the Bears earlier in the day as he tries to get another gig in the NFL. Carroll, 73, led Seattle for 14 seasons and won Super Bowl 2014 in a rout of the Broncos.

Hughes’ NFL experience includes a two-year stint as the Vikings’ defensive backs coach under Bud Grant in 1982 and 1983, giving him a connection with one of the Raiders’ head coach candidates. Grant retired after the 1983 season, but returned to Minnesota in 1985 and hired Pete Carroll in Hughes’ former position.

After failing in their Hail Mary attempt to lure Bill Belichick to Las Vegas, the Raiders will now take a look at another long-time NFL coach. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Raiders are set to interview Pete Carroll for their coaching vacancy next week.
