Aug 16, 2021 · Shudder is often a matter of oils and the bands in the tranny slipping (or not 'gripping' as well as they should). It's usually pronounce on shifts, and esp in drive or OD position. Esp if your rig isn't throwing codes, and ESP if the fluid is old or has recently been changed.

Or drive in 4th gear and see if the shudder goes away, or is much less noticeable. As for the Shudder Fix additive, LubeGuard is the one that seems to be the most recommended with good results.

Jul 14, 2019 · When I have a customer who has a complaint about a "shudder", the first thing I inspect it the pinion angle and the prop-shaft center support bearing. I have found that a ¼"-⅜" shim between the center support bearing and the mounting bracket almost eliminates the shudder when accelerating from a stop with a load.

Gets worse the more you beat on it but right when you turn it off and on it’s back to normal smooth idle. No codes or anything being thrown either.
