You are unable to use a gift card to purchase any physical hardware. They only accept credit cards. I know its a little late for those who bought people gift cards for Christmas.

The only gift cards you can buy with Amazon gift cards are ones that are only sold by Amazon.com LLC such as PSN, Xbox, and eShop cards. EDIT: This no longer works. Amazon removed the option to buy any gift card or digital content with gift card balance.

To answer OPs question, the only things you can buy with your Wallet funds is a digital game for yourself (not your friends), digital media (movie, etc) or a PSN Subscription.
