Our weather station is located on the summit of Mount Washington in New Hampshire, at Mount Washington State Park.

Mountain weather is subject to rapid changes and extreme conditions. This forecast is just one tool to help you plan a safe trip. Always travel with adequate clothing, shelter, food, and water, and be prepared to make your own assessment of travel and weather conditions.

Our weather station and Extreme Mount Washington Museum are located in Mount Washington State Park in the Sherman Adams Visitor Center. Between mid-May to mid-October, you can visit the summit of New England’s highest peak via car, train, or by foot.

The summit is accessible seasonally by car (via the Mt. Washington Auto Road) and foot (via several hiking trails). SUMMER VISITS. Mt. Washington State Park, and thus our facilities, are open whenever the Auto Road is open, which is generally mid-May through mid-October. Access by Car: Mt. Washington Auto Road
